MT320 Education

My Sensei... whose Name i would not disclose is a cool man who has been teaching me lots of facts of life, music and ofcourse Swift ...
Me thinks i should put them a place where i can access anytime and its never too late.

Today sensei teaches me about MT 320...

Sensei Says

"Good tip for testing. MT300 & 320 have field 22C Common Ref - which is made up of parts of the BIC in the sender and receiver and the rate. The two BICS are placed in alpha sequence with the rate in the middle irrespective of who is sender and who receiver, this way both parties use the same reference when they swap confirmations (e.g One MT300 says buy £150 sell $220 - the other buy $220 sell £150) When you copy prod messages to test with, the BIC's change and all the messages get NAK'd unless you change the 22C tags as well."

All Hail Sensei...
